Serbian women in Kosovo politics: Does the position necessarily imply power?

Kosovo Constitution guarantees a 30% quota for women. Still, even that the positive trend has been visible lately in regards to the political participation of women, the idea that the quota is no longer necessary is unfortunately premature. It will take more time and effort for Kosovo to achieve equal representation of women without the assistance of quota requirement. Women are still experiencing more difficulties to win the elections on their own merit than men. NSI will assess the involvement of Serb women in Kosovo political life and advocate for the process improvement in order to straighten their actual influence in decision making processes. NSI will encourage young women to engage in politics by increasing their capacities to understand their rights and possibilities for their political participation. Along with elected representatives, NSI will advocate for higher inclusion of women in political realm.
