Increasing citizen participation and accountability in local governments in northern Kosovo

The overall objective of the project is to increase local government transparency, responsiveness and accountability through citizen participation. The project will support the design and implementation of specific citizen participation and accountability measures to foster local government dialogue and cooperation with civil society and citizen.

The expected results of the project are:

Result 1: Four web portals  for citizen participation are operational, supported by liaison officers able to effectively manage citizen inquiries, and citizens are informed on how to benefit from e-governance platforms

Result 2: Municipalities and civil society organizations are able to monitor citizen participation progress using electronic tracking tool, and key performance indicators are used to measure performance of established mechanisms for citizen participation

Result 3: Municipalities utilize at least one innovative new tool for citizen participation

Result 4: Municipalities are actively engaged in networking, learning and knowledge-sharing activities, both inter-municipally and at the regional and global levels
