Our 9 young researchers from Kosovo and Serbia aspire to become policy analysts!

On the weekend of 17-20 February, our nine young researchers finished the first two modules of the training program.

They had the opportunity to deeper their knowledges on policy analysis, normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, and the regional cooperation initiatives.

The first tranining module was on research methodology and it was delivered by Ramadan Ilazi, Head of Researcher at the Kosovar Centre for Security Studes and former Deputy Minister of EU Integration of the Government of Kosovo.

Whereas the second module on policy documents writing was delivered by Stefan Surlić, a professor from the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Belgrade.

Participants showed significant interest in the dialogue, regional cooperation initiatives, and underlined that the focus on it was one of the main motivations for the participation in the program.

At the end of the training, under a mentor’s guidance, they will write a policy brief on the topic of their choice.

The jury will evaluate policy briefs, and the two best authors will be invited to present their work at the annual Kosovo Peace and Democracy Summit.

This is part of the project “Strengthening Youth Civic Participation in Political Processes” implemented by New Social Initiative (NSI) funded by National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
