Another Case of Femicide in Kosovo!

Our community is shaken by the news that M.Ž. from Donja Gušterica/Gushtericë e Poshtme, who was admitted to the hospital yesterday due to severe bodily injuries inflicted by her husband, has passed away today.

Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during these difficult times.

We strongly condemn all forms of violence against women and believe that such crimes must not go without appropriate response. Violence against women is a serious social problem that requires urgent and decisive action.

We call on the relevant institutions to take all necessary measures to ensure the adequate protection of women and prevent the recurrence of such tragic events. The system must be efficient in protecting every woman from violence and ensuring justice for those who have suffered.

We also want to emphasize the importance of empowering women and their emancipation as key factors in the fight against violence. Women must have access to all the resources and support that allow them to protect themselves, report violence, and make independent decisions about their lives. Women’s emancipation is essential not only for their personal safety but also for creating a fairer society where violence against women will not be tolerated.

There is no justification for violence against women, and every case must be thoroughly investigated, with the perpetrators severely punished. Such tragedies remind us of how important it is for us all, as a society, to stand together in the fight against violence against women and work towards creating a safer and more just environment for everyone.
