Open initiative campaign on soial media – FOLLOW US!

In recent months, the NSI, along with eight other NGOs working in Serb communities in Kosovo, has been part of the Open initiative launched by the Kosovo Open Society Foundation (KFOS). As part of this initiative, eight analyzes were written and all of them will be presented on social networks in a campaign that will last until the end of June.

”Democracy, Openness and Prospects of the Serb Community in Kosovo – Open” is a initiative KFOS initiated in 2020.

The general objective of this new initiative was  the development of an open and dynamic space for discussion within the Serb community and between the Serb and other communities, as well as among institutions in Kosovo.

The initiative specifically engaged in the analysis and estimates of the impact of civil-society and political organizations on the implementation of democratic principles and openness of the Serb community in Kosovo.

Implementation of democratic standards and the openness of institutions, public policies, and important processes in their relations with the Serb community in Kosovo will be analyzed and estimated, as well a degree of openness of the Serbian community towards them.

These analyses will assist in understanding of the current position and prospects of the Serbian community in Kosovo, serving at the same time as a basis of their argument-based advocacy among citizens, institutions, local and central authorities, and the international community.

NSI, in partnership with the Forum for Development and Multiethnic Cooperation (FDMC) and the Media Center, worked on the analysis of the work and influence of civil society and Kosovo Serb political parties. Political action and activism are the pillars of community democracy and the basis for building an open society. But what are their current results and did they achieve these goals? Find out in our analyzes that will soon be published on our website.

In the meantime, check out our Catalog of Civil Society organisations: Vol 1 – CSOs in Serb community in Kosovo which is also prepared as part of this initiative.

As part of the Open Initiative, sectoral analyzes on security, dialogue, minority rights and the economy in Serbian communities have been published as well, and these analyzes as well as infographics and other information related to the Open Initiative can be found in Serbian, Albanian and English language on the Facebook page dedicated to this initiative
