Rebuilding Trust: Transparency, Accountability, and Citizen Participation in Northern Kosovo

The project, implemented by New Social Initiative (NSI) with the support of the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), aims to promote transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in public procurement processes in the four northern municipalities of Kosovo: North Mitrovica, Zvečan/Zveçan, Leposavić/Leposaviq, and Zubin Potok.

The project focuses on researching and analyzing public procurement practices, identifying key risks and gaps, and assessing the alignment of public investments with community needs. It includes organizing focus groups and community consultations with citizens and civil society, developing a Public Procurement Transparency Index, and producing a comprehensive report with findings and actionable recommendations. Through public outreach, advocacy, and media engagement, the project seeks to raise awareness of transparent and accountable public spending, strengthen civic engagement, and contribute to improved institutional accountability and public trust.
