Open Call for Interns – New Social Initiative (NSI)

New Social Initiative (NSI), a civil society organization based in North Mitrovica, is opening a call for motivated and engaged individuals to join our Internship Program.

The internship offers hands-on experience in civil society work, policy research, communications, and program implementation, with close mentorship and meaningful involvement in NSI’s core activities.

• Program Intern
• Research Intern
• Digital Marketing / Social Media Intern

Internship Position Descriptions:

Program Intern

The Program Intern will support the implementation of NSI’s projects and events.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting in the organization and logistics of meetings, workshops, and conferences
• Supporting program planning, reporting, and documentation
• Coordinating with team members and external partners
• Helping with monitoring project activities and timelines

Ideal Profile:
• Interest in civil society, dialogue, peacebuilding, or governance
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks

Research Intern

The Research Intern will support NSI’s analytical and policy-oriented work.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting in desk research and data collection
• Supporting the drafting of research papers, policy briefs, and reports
• Helping with interview transcription, analysis, and literature reviews
• Contributing to fact-checking and content accuracy

Ideal Profile:
• Strong interest in research, public policy, human rights, or social sciences
• Analytical thinking and good writing skills
• Curiosity and willingness to learn research methodologies

Digital Marketing / Social Media Intern

The Digital Marketing / Social Media Intern will support NSI’s online presence and communications.

Key Responsibilities:
• Creating and scheduling content for social media platforms
• Supporting digital campaigns, outreach, and visibility of NSI activities
• Assisting with basic graphic design and video/photo content (where applicable)
• Monitoring engagement and helping analyze communication performance

Ideal Profile:
• Interest in digital communications, social media, and storytelling
• Creativity and familiarity with social media platforms
• Basic knowledge of tools such as Canva or similar platforms is an asset

• Good command of English (written and spoken)
• Digital literacy
• Responsibility, reliability, and willingness to learn
