Shared Stories, Shared Futures: Building Trust in Kosovo

Shared Stories, Shared Futures: Building Trust in Kosovo is a project implemented by New Social Initiative (NSI) in cooperation with the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). The project aims to foster constructive local dialogue, strengthen interethnic trust and social cohesion, and promote inclusive narratives that help overcome polarization and mistrust in northern Kosovo.

The project combines community dialogue with youth-driven digital storytelling to encourage cooperation among communities and amplify shared human experiences. Activities focus on engaging local institutions, civil society, community leaders, youth, businesses, media representatives, and members of different ethnic communities.

As part of the project, NSI will implement the following activities:

  • Organization of four Community Pulse Forums bringing together diverse stakeholders across ethnic and sectoral lines to discuss community priorities, coexistence, and normalization
  • Development of four forum brief papers documenting key issues, proposals, and recommendations emerging from the discussions
  • Selection and mentorship of eight young content creators and influencers to challenge divisive narratives
  • Production and dissemination of eight original multimedia content pieces, including reels, blogs, vlogs, and TikTok videos, under the initiative “Re Kosovo”
  • Organization of a final event to showcase project outcomes and community feedback

Duration: Six months (September 2025 – February 2026)

Funded by: United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK)
