About Us
New Social Initiative (NSI) is a civil society organization working in Kosovo, but also cooperating with the key stakeholders in the Western Balkan region, to ultimately impact inclusiveness, trust-building, democratization, and good governance processes in Kosovo. While doing so, NSI follows its vision of an inclusive society built on trust and appreciation among its communities, in which citizens from all ethnic groups actively participate in the society and its governance.
NSI strives to create an impact and bring change through programs and projects, as well as public communication campaigns promoting positive stories on communities’ relations, reconciliation, conflict transformation, trust-building, and dealing with the past.
NSI is implementing projects and communication campaigns to promote a constructive, considerate, and critical approach to reconciliation, peacebuilding, and language social acceptance.
Project Manager
NSI is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Project Manager who would be engaged in managing projects oriented towards normalization of relations between communities in Kosovo and dealing with the past, and trust-building initiative.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate project activities, from program, administrative and financial points of view, apply strategic planning and systematic coordination of project activities.
- Manage day-to-day project implementation and overall coordination of project outcomes.
- Ensure supervision of the project staff and ensure effective communication and coordination between the project team and the project donors.
- Provide direction and leadership in advocating project objectives and in ensuring that all interested parties are well informed about the project activities and goals.
- Identify any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of a project.
- Ensure timely preparation and compilation of the project monthly/quarterly/annual work plans and/or progress narrative and financial reports and its submission to project donors.
- Participate in building and implementing the detailed concept and approaches as part of the overall framework and methodology of project.
- Identify implementation agreements and needed resources to implement the project and ensure proper management of funds.
- Ensure the quality of outputs and results with optimal monitoring mechanism by establishing effective coordination, monitoring, and information sharing among project team members.
- Supervise project administrative and security related activities, monitor financial resources and accounting to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reports.
- Supervise project team members in their performance of their respective duties and ensure the efficient functioning of the team in a clear working arrangement.
- Represent a project, as required, to donor organizations, other international organizations, as well as national government, non-governmental institutions, and other interested stakeholders.
- Ensure proper professional communication and relationships with relevant national and international partner agencies, relevant developing programs/projects.
- Manage the project deliverables, documents, files, equipment, and materials as per the donor standards and legal requirements.
- Initiate corrective action where necessary; advise the donor and organization management of any deviations from the project plan.
- Identify and manage risks so that maximum benefit of a project is ensured.
Qualifications and experience
- At least three years of experience in managing the projects in civil society sector,
- Experience in normalization of relations, reconciliation, trust-building and dealing with the past subjects will be an asset,
- Knowledge of English, Serbian, and/or Albanian.
Finance and Administration Assistant
NSI is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Finance and Administration Assistant who would assist in financial and administration management of projects.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining NSI office files and keeps information and reference in a manner that allows easy management.
- Prepare Payment Requests, Vouchers and other NSI internal finance documents.
- Receive and archive timesheets from NSI Staff.
- Prepare and follow-up on payments and other expenses.
- Ensure that proper documentation from supplier is revised as well as collect documents from supplier for releasing payments.
- Prepare office supplies requisition including the preparation of equipment specifications, collection of bids and preparation of purchase orders.
- Assist in the logistics preparation and implementation of training, workshops, meetings and other awareness activities pertaining to the project.
- Maintain appropriate inventory records of office material and equipment and prepares the corresponding reports.
- Follow-up on administrative matters in NSI project.
- Brief other personnel on administrative matters.
- When needed, works closely with the NSI staff on administrative issues related to the project.
- Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in working in the project administration in civil society sector is preferred,
- Knowledge of English, Serbian, and/or Albanian.
